Set to stun: why Timezone laser tag is loads of fun

Ready, set, pew pew pew! We delve into the benefits of playing a game of laser tag at Timezone.

Head games

A game of laser tag gets you out of your head and into your reflexes, which makes it perfect for those days that you find yourself overthinking everything. Immerse yourself in the neon-lit realm of one of Timezone’s epic laser tag arenas to escape the noise and focus on what really matters: how you’re going to duck, weave and beat the opposition at every turn. As you navigate through the maze-like arena, you’ll find your senses are heightened, and your reflexes sharpened. Strategising with your team and out-manoeuvring opponents require quick thinking and adaptability, making laser tag an excellent mental workout. You’ve got to stay sharp as your enemy is never far away – so avoid getting distracted or you might just get tagged!

Getting physical

Any form of movement is good for us – and laser tag will get you moving for sure. You’ll elevate your heart rate and work up a healthy sweat while ducking and dodging through the arena – way more fun than running on a treadmill! And the perfect excuse to treat yourself to a delicious snack after.

Bonding with friends

Sure, you can play the role of lone wolf in a laser tag arena, but it is much more fun to rustle up a group of good friends and try a game of laser tag to prove your teamworking abilities. Laser tag isn’t just about your phaser skills; clever team players know how to collaborate to devise the ultimate laser tag strategy to defeat the opposition. And good friends will always have each other’s backs – always a bonus if you find yourself cornered in the arena!

Laser tag is also a healthy way of sorting out differences and petty arguments between friends: instead of getting combative and physical, pour your frustrations into a laser tag battle and work off the steam in a positive way.

A different kind of party

Is your birthday coming up fast, and you feel like trying something different? Make the celebration extra special with a laser tag party at Timezone; it could be exactly what you need to have a memorably good time. You won’t have to spend too much time making small talk with your guests since you’ll all be too busy dodging laser beams, and afterwards everybody will be in a good mood because of the adrenaline rush. Bonus: the birthday cake will taste so much sweeter after your victory!

So now you're ready for the arena, let's run through some need to know info!

Laser tag basics

Timezone provide all the laser tag gear and guidance you need, making your laser tag challenge a breeze. We provide the vest and laser phaser – all you need to bring are your friends. Feel free to dress the part in camouflage fatigues (add a stealthy headband), or channel your favourite arcade game characters for a loud-and-proud dress up.

Before you start your game, you’ll receive:

  • A full briefing from our staff
  • Laser tag vest and phaser
  • Timed battles
  • Team score

Planning your laser tag battle

There are different ways of conquering the laser tag arena – it doesn’t matter what you choose, as long as you have fun.

  • Free-for-all: that’s when you go into the arena and just start shooting away at anything and everything that moves. Works best if you’re on your own.
  • Strategic laser tag: if you’ve arrived in a large group, we suggest choosing two captains to organise your squads. You can mix up your squad members for each game to keep things interesting and give everyone a chance to team up.

Ready to play? Get your phasers ready. You can opt for an elimination setting with a set number of lives per player or advance the top performers to the next round until only one remains!

Laser Tag Rules

  • Be at least 6 years old
  • Wear enclosed footwear (no thongs, sandals, or high heels)
  • Not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other substance
  • No running, jumping, crawling, physical contact, or offensive language
  • Be aware that the laser tag arenas use flashing lights, lasers, and strobe lighting. Any persons that suffer photosensitivity epilepsy enter the maze at their own risk.

So get your adrenaline pumping - grab your team, slip into gear, set your laser phaser on “stun” and blast away!
